Tamil Nadu Integrated Housing Information System (TNIHIS) Dashboard
Tamil Nadu Integrated Housing Information System (TNIHIS) Dashboard
Download MarkDownThe Challenge
The Government of Tamil Nadu required a centralized, interactive dashboard to consolidate and visualize housing-related data across the state. The existing data management approach lacked a unified platform for housing indicators such as availability, affordability, quality, demographic data, construction statistics, occupancy rates, and urbanization trends. Key challenges included:
- Fragmented Data Access: Housing data was scattered across multiple departments and formats, making it difficult for government officials and policymakers to gain a comprehensive view of the state’s housing landscape.
- Limited Analytical Capability: Stakeholders lacked tools for trend analysis, comparative assessments between districts and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), and benchmarking against national averages.
- Multi-Level Reporting Needs: Data needed to be accessible and meaningful at the state, district, and ULB levels, requiring a sophisticated drill-down architecture.
- Public Accessibility: The dashboard needed to serve both government officials making policy decisions and the general public seeking housing information.
