Velocity offers variety of services in IBM Lotus Notes/Domino arena. Few of them are listed below:
- Administrative and technical leadership in regards to all server activities.
- Monitoring of servers for issues, performing rotation of on-call support for issues, and providing 2nd level and above support for problems and or work orders referred by the Help Desk.
- Creating server side agents and monitoring the authority and execution of all server agents and rules.
- Analyzing all error messages and server issues to final resolution. Utilizing third party applications and support options where necessary.
- Assistance in the setup and creation of new servers, upgrades and de-commissioning of existing Domino servers as required.
- Daily Administrator functions for user and group creation, modification or deletion as needed, and maintaining an active archive of user IDs and terminated person documents.
- Administration of access control lists (ACLs) and adherence to security policies. Notifying management of suspected security violations or system weaknesses.
- Assistance in or perform the installation of the Notes client and/or BlackBerry desktop software on PCs or Laptops. Active role in assisting Help Desk personnel and end users.
- Technical support for connectivity, replication, dial-up access and mail routing.
- Assistance to developers in server/system support and testing.
- Smooth deployment of in-house or third party developed applications to the production servers.
- Consistent communication with all levels of the company, while working on issues or projects.
- Working with other ITS groups on managing existing backup and recovery model.
- Understanding and carrying out instructions furnished in written, oral, via e-mail or diagram form and will prepare or maintain documentation that will assist in the maintenance of the systems.
- Planning and testing of new system hardware, software and development of system roll-out/implementation strategies.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
