“The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing out loud for all to hear.”
~Will Ferrell, “Elf”

Who doesn’t like the holiday season? With the fairy lights illuminating the streets, Christmas trees decked up with hangings, the sweet flavorsome fragrance from every house baking cakes and Santa dropping in gifts to everyone, it is sure that Christmas is here. With the joyful hearts and the feeling of festivity, Velocity celebrated its Christmas 2017 with absolute enthusiasm and cheer on the 22nd December 2017.

In order to make this celebration different, three committees were formed, namely – Decoration, Food, and Activity. With volunteers active participation, the members of the committees put in a lot of hard work, efforts and time to pull it all off extravagantly. With the stunning decoration in every corner of the office premise to the lip-smacking food that’s hard-to-forget, the activities were definitely very engaging and enjoyable.

Christmas Celebration

All cheers and smiles, the Velocitians were Secret Santa to someone in the office. They all got presents with a name tag of the recipient on and kept it under the Christmas tree placed in the lobby. Just like one big family, the Christmas tree looked lit with all the hangings on the branches and so many gifts under it.

Christmas CelebrationAll dressed up for the occasion, the female brigade looked stunning while men looked dapper for sure. As a customary, the day kicked off with a photo shoot in every part of the office with the stunning decoration serving as a great background. With the smiles getting broader after finding their gift under the tree, everyone got back to their cubicles to start the day. All of a sudden, Santa appeared and brought sweets for all the employees. With something or the other happening, half of the day went by for which everyone was excitedly waiting for.

Headed to the cafeteria, everyone looked stunned and their mouths filled with water after seeing the buffet that was served on the table. Finally, it was time for food. With the appetizing menu including fried rice-Manchurian, pav-bhaji, chilly potatoes and idli-sambhar-chutney, everyone ate more than their stomach could hold. Not to forget the soft and sweet gulab jamuns which everyone kept on asking for even when they were the first to go out-of-stock.

The party is actually getting started now as it was the activities time. To list down all the activities, there were 6 in total.

  1. Guess the word
  2. Eat the oranges
  3. Karaoke (with the special effects)
  4. Save the balloon
  5. Paper Dance; and
  6. Burst the balloon.

When the activities came to end (nobody wanted them to end though), the HR opened a box of yummy melted chocolate cake. Cut by the Santa himself, everyone enjoyed a slice and were merry.

Later everyone came back to the reception area to pick up their gifts from under the tree. Hopes up high and eyes gleaming with happiness, everyone just loved what they got. Went along asking who their Secret Santa was, they thanked each other for investing the time and efforts in picking something so beautiful.

Finally, the day came to an end and the long weekend stepped in.

Merry Christmas guys!!
